We are pleased to announce that the time has come again for our Christmas Performances.  


Nursery and Reception Performance. ‘Happy Birthday Jesus’ St Mary’s Parish Hall, Monday 11th December at 10.30am & 1pm.


Years 1 & 2 Performance. ‘Bethlehem’s Buzzin’ St Mary’s Parish Hall, Monday 11th December at 6pm and Tuesday 12th December at 10.30am.


Miss Hunt (Year 3) and Miss Paterson-Jones (Year 4) Class.  ‘Burglars and Mayhem in B&M’, St Mary’s Parish Hall, Tuesday 12thDecember at 1.30pm and 6pm.


Mrs Jones (Year 5) and Miss Ford (Year 6) class.  ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean’, St Mary’s Parish Hall, Wednesday 13th December at 1.30pm & 6pm.


All tickets are £2 per person, available from the school office at 8.45am and 3pm daily from Wednesday 29th November.  If you prefer to send in money in a labelled envelope in your child’s book bag then we can organise tickets that way too.  For strict fire regulation reasons we do ask that you do not wait until the night of the performance to pay at the door as we cannot guarantee seats for health and safety reasons.


Initially the allocation will be a maximum of two tickets per child per performance.


Then from Wednesday 6th December, they will go on general sale on a first come first served basis.


We will have teas, coffees and mince pies available in the Parish Hall after each  Performance.  Raffle tickets will also be available on the door for our Christmas raffle.


If any Parents are available to help out with the refreshments, please see Natalie in the office.

Dear Parents,


The School Christmas Fair is due to be held on Wednesday 6th December from 3.15pm to 6pm.  Last year’s Christmas Fair was a huge success and this year we promise it to be even bigger and better.


Your children will be busy over the coming weeks preparing art and craft materials which will be sold on the night of the Christmas Fair – so please come along.


This year we have something new. ‘The Santa Experience’ where you can book a time slot for your child and they will join Santa and a group of about 20 children to enjoy a short story of ‘The Night Before Christmas’ with a professional story telling Elf. Then on the way out there will be the opportunity for you to take your own photographs with Santa in his grotto and receive a gift.  To avoid queues and delays we ask that everyone pre-books tickets before the evening.  You will then be allocated a time slot to attend.  It is very important that you ensure you are on time enabling everything to run smoothly. Timeslots will be given on a first come first served basis.


All are welcome – tell your friends and family.


Please book your grotto tickets by returning the form at the bottom of the letter your child has brought home before Friday 1st December as we cannot guarantee any spare gifts from Santa – and the elves will be extremely busy beforehand labelling individual gifts and ensuring there is enough. 


Donations of cakes or biscuits would be very welcome on the day. Items for the raffle, tombola, bric a brac, lucky dip, stalls, etc., would also be very welcome, but we would be grateful if these could be sent into school as soon as possible. 


We would like items to make up a hamper, e.g. tins, packets, biscuits, etc. These can be handed in to the class teacher before Friday 1stDecember.  The hampers will be used as raffle prizes.

Dear Parents

Just a gentle reminder that the fee for the Morning care club is 75p per day per child. If a family has 3 or more children attending the Morning club then the fee is £2 a day for the family.

This can be paid online via the School Gateway.

Children are accepted into the Pre-School Care Club from 8.00am onwards and to the Breakfast Club between 8.25am and 8.35am; children cannot be sent to the Breakfast Club before 8.25am. Any children who arrive later than 8.35am will not be accepted.

To ensure we have the correct staffing numbers, parents must Pre-Book into the club which can only be done via the school gateway.

®    Click on ‘Morning Childcare Care 2017-2018’ and follow the onscreen instructions

®    You can book children in at any time, but please be aware if you are booking on the morning you are attending, booking will close for that day at 7.30am

®    You will be prompted then to pay, please note the minimum payment that can be made is £3.75 (5 sessions).  Please note, you do not have to book all five sessions on that day, and your account will stay in credit for further bookings

Christmas Dinner for the children is on Friday 15th December. If your child/children require a dinner please fill in the form below and return with payment on or before Friday 1st December.  It is important that we have exact figures so if you do not return the form by this date we will assume that your child does not want a dinner.  The menu is included overleaf.  All children are invited to wear their Christmas jumpers or jazz up their jumpers with tinsel etc. Please do not feel that you have to go out and buy a Christmas jumper. There will be no charge for the children not wearing their school jumpers for this day, although any donations will be gratefully received towards St David’s Hospice.


If your child / children receive free school meals this meal is also free but you will still need to complete the slip below to confirm numbers.


As you know the end of term is fast approaching.  Please may I remind you that all outstanding dinner monies must be paid in full by the end of term.  We would be very grateful if you would send in all dinner money by Thursday 21st December so that we have time to balance our books.


It is extremely important for the school to clear all debts with the Local Education Authority and I would very much appreciate your full co-operation.

Dear Parents


We will be holding a short meeting this Thursday 16th November at 9am to discuss this year’s Christmas Fair and Grotto which will be held on Wednesday 6th December.


Last year was a great success and once again we want to make this evening an enjoyable and memorable experience for our children.


We are looking for volunteers to run stalls, make cakes, any facepainters?  Again it won’t be possible to hold the Christmas Fair without the help of parents and friends. It’s a great opportunity for everyone to get together, have fun and raise valuable funds for our school.


We look forward to seeing you there. If you are unable to make it but have any ideas to put forward, then please contact Natalie in the office.

Children in Need Day Friday 17th November 2017



We will be celebrating Children in Need Day on Friday 17th November.  The theme is ‘Countries of the World’ and we invite children to come in dressed as their choice of country. This could be national dress, colours of their chosen countries flag, costumes etc.  For this event we invite you to make a donation of 50p for Children in Need.  We are also asking the children to bring in any loose change, and we will see how many Pudsey Bears we can cover with the coins.


There will be a school mass on this day at 10am to which you are all invited.  The theme of the mass will be Children in Need. 


In the classrooms there will be ‘Countries of the world’ activities ongoing for all students.


We do appreciate this is a very busy and expensive time of year so I would just like to once again thank you all for your continuous support and generosity.

Operation Christmas Child


Just a quick reminder that we are participating in Operation Christmas Child.   This campaign aims to get Christmas presents to the very poorest children.  It's amazing what a simple act - like packing a shoebox can do.  Because of people like you, over a million children overseas will experience the joy of receiving a present this Christmas.


Your child should have brought home a leaflet that explains how to pack your shoebox and what it should contain.  Please remember to put £2.50(in an envelope) in the shoe box to cover postage and packaging. If you cannot fill a box, you are more than welcome to drop in any items from the list that you wish to donate.


We would be grateful if you could please return your shoeboxes no later than Wednesday 15th November.

Just a quick reminder that Individual School Photographs will be taken by Tempest photography this Friday 10th November.  Please ensure that your child is wearing the correct school uniform.


If you would like any children under school age or children who attend the high school to be included in family portraits, please come to the school between 8.30 and 9am for these photographs to be taken.  No other photos will be taken at this time.
