We are holding our school sports day on Friday 30th June starting at 1:15 pm.
Nursery Sports Day will be held at 10am on the same day
The children will need appropriate kit and trainers and plenty of refreshments, (no fizzy drinks or glass bottles). They will also require adequate protection for weather and a hat should the weather be favourable!
You are warmly invited to come and support your child and some seating will be provided at the side of the sports field. However, we respectfully ask that you use only the area allocated and do not cross the field at any time as your child is with the class teacher.
In the interest of safety could you also ensure that any pre-school aged children remain under careful supervision and do not wander across the sports field at any time.We are also hoping to complete an activity session next Thursday afternoon 29th June, therefore all the children will need their kit next week please. The points from this will go towards the overall team score.
The Summer Fair will take place straight after Sports day. We look forward to seeing you next Friday.
Headlice have been detected in the hair of some of our Year 2 children. It is essential that you check, and if necessary, treat your child's hair immediately.
By working together we can drastically reduce this problem and I ask that you check your child's hair daily. Should you find head lice please inform the school and begin treatment immediately. Advice for parents can be found online by following the link below.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Please note that rugby is cancelled after school today. Sorry for the short notice.

With our Summer Fair fast approaching on Friday 30th June, I would like to call for volunteers to help run the stalls.
It will not be possible to hold an exciting fun filled afternoon for the children without your help. If you are available to help in any way for any short period of time, please phone the school as soon as possible.
Please help us in any way possible.

Just a quick reminder that the Infant Summer School trip to Greenwood is next Wednesday 21st June.
If you have not already returned your child's form along with payment, could you please ensure that you do so by Monday 19th June at the very latest as we need to confirm numbers.
The cost of the trip is £13 which can be paid online via the school gateway or brought to school in a clearly labelled envelope.
Unfortunately we have a number of children coming to school in trainers at the moment. As a parent I fully understand the cost implications, however I also know how much a new pair of trainers cost, and by wearing them all day every day they will need replacing much sooner!
I am delighted to inform you that I have been in discussion with Claire (of Claire's Shoes) and she has ordered a range of great value shoes that conform with St Mary's uniform policy. She will also bring along a range of shoes to our open evening on the 10th of July.
I appreciate your support in this matter, since proudly wearing a full school uniform is something for which the children of St Mary's are well known.
On Tuesday the 20th June, the School nurse will visit to talk to the children about head lice.
She will also be doing a presentation/help session for parents at 3pm, which you are all very welcome to attend.
On Friday the 9th of June Kittle Photography will be in school to take a whole school photograph and class photos.
Please ensure that your child wears their full correct uniform.

We will be holding a short meeting this Friday 9th June at 9am to discuss this year’s Summer Fair which will be held on Friday 30th June.
Are you available to run a stall? Can you help collect prizes for the games? Can you make cakes? Do you have a good fundraising idea for the Summer Fair? Again it won’t be possible to hold the Summer Fair without the help of parents and friends, and it seems a shame for the children to miss out on the Fair they enjoy so much each year. It’s a great opportunity for everyone to get together, have fun and raise valuable funds for our school.
We plan to have games stalls, bouncy castles, hog roast, face painting, cakes and lots, lots more.
Please return the slip below by, or pop in to the office to discuss any ideas you have with Natalie, and hopefully we will be able to set an agenda and hold our Summer Fair. Let’s give the children a fun filled, much deserved afternoon that they deserve.
Thank you for your continued support.
Please indicate below how you are able to help:
□Run a stall □Make cakes
□Setting up/Clearing up □Face painting
□Delivering donation request letters to local businesses
